Welcome to the 156th consecutive Sunday edition of Shinybait. And that's enough already. Really. It's time to say goodbye.
This comes about just as my gracious hosts at GoDaddy (Thanks, guys. Nice service.) renewed the site for another year. And that renewal notice got me to thinking. And the more I thought about it the more I was convinced that this site just won't cut bait for another year.
There are three good (well, ok, whatever) reasons for this:
1) I'm running out of original ideas and this is slowly degrading into just another curmudgeonly rant blog endlessly repeating tired, stale material.
B) The joy is out of it, and now it's too much like work to get out something every Sunday.
III) I'm tired.
Thanks to the readers that have followed me for the last 3 years (and I know who both of you are and I appreciate your stamina), and to those who have wandered in from time to time (love you guys too much). Since I just renewed my subscription, the site will be up for a while yet, and you are welcome to come revisit the archives anytime you're really really really bored. But there won't be any new updates.
I may regret this decision in the future. I may find inspiration again and open up shop elsewhere. You never know. But right now I'm looking forward to sleeping in on Sundays.
